Former Boston hotel worker charged with stealing $700K from coworkers

A former employee of a Boston hotel has been charged with scamming his former coworkers out of more than $700,000.

David Markiewicz, of Hull, took the money from 12 people over the course of eight years through a “get rich quick” scheme, according to a news release from the Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth Securities Division.

Markiewicz established Nantasket Trading, LLC in 2017 to give his scheme the appearance of legitimacy, authorities said, and told investors that their funds would be managed in a pooled investment fund.
