The Massachusetts State Police are still reviewing what happened in the Karen Read case to see how the department can improve, its leader told NBC10 Boston on Wednesday.
Nine months into his time as colonel of the agency, Geoffrey Noble is launching a campaign to make it more effective while engaging with the community more. The Excellence Initiative was launched this week, and we asked if it grew out of the reaction to now-fired Trooper Michael Proctor’s inappropriate texts about Read soon after he began investigating the death of her boyfriend, Boston Police Officer John O’Keefe.
Noble said the department is always looking for ways to improve: “We will always look at areas and ways that we can do better, and the Karen Read trial is another example of that.”…
