The Boston Police Department is turning to the public for help in solving a recent string of sunglasses thefts at Faneuil Hall, as explained in an alert posted on their official website. The theft occurred at the SunGlass Hut, located at 7 Faneuil Hall Marketplace, where a male suspect made away with seven pairs of high-value sunglasses at approximately 4:09 p.m., Friday, July 11. The authorities have released surveillance footage images and are seeking assistance to identify the individual in question.
The suspect, captured on video, is described as a white male in his thirties, seen wearing a gray sweatshirt with the hood drawn up over his head. After conducting the theft, the suspect reportedly exited the store, turning right towards Haymarket. Boston Police believe that this may not be the suspect’s first offense, noting similarities with a previous larceny that unfolded at the same location earlier in the week.
Detectives from District A-1 are vigorously investigating the specifics of the incident. In an effort to tap into community resources and perhaps jog the memory of potential witnesses, the Boston Police Department encourages anyone with information to come forward.
