Cape Cod nurse working in East Boston rehab facility charged with stealing oxycodone

A nurse from West Yarmouth working at an East Boston health care facility has been charged with drug larceny and drugs obtained by fraud in Boston Municipal Court East Boston on July 21, according to the Suffolk District Attorney, Kevin Hayden.

Between Nov. 15, 2023 to Feb. 23, 2024, the 34-year-old nurse allegedly falsified medical records to obtain more than 50 oxycodone pills from Advocate Health Care of East Boston, according to the press release from the Suffolk County D.A. office. The nurse worked as a licensed practical nurse at Advocate Health Care, which is a long-term care and short-term rehabilitation facility.

The nurse allegedly obtained the oxycodone pills by not documenting doses, removing more medication than ordered by doctors, and making false entries on dates when she was not working, according to the press release…
