Market Basket board won’t take more action before mediation with CEO Demoulas

The board of beloved grocery chain Market Basket is remains hopeful for “a constructive resolution” to the corporate standoff that’s roiled the company, it said Friday, revealing that a mediation session with CEO Arthur T. Demoulas has been scheduled.

A law firm has been reviewing the allegations of a planned work disruption of the supermarkets’ operations, according to Harvey J. Wolkoff, a partner at the firm, Quinn Emmanuel. Those allegations led Demoulas to be placed on leave, in what he has characterized as a hostile takeover.

Friday’s statement noted that the review is nearly done, but it won’t be released before a mediation session is held on Sept. 3, “out of deference to Mr. Demoulas.”…
