Brookline resident charged with defacing sign on temple’s property

Brookline police have issued a criminal summons to 25-year-old Brookline resident Seph Rose for allegedly defacing a sign outside Temple Ohabei Shalom on Beacon Street earlier this month.

Police say Rose walked up to the message board on the front lawn of the temple and wrote on it shortly before 9 a.m. on Monday, July 14.

The sign outside 1187 Beacon Street contained a Star of David and the words “We support the people of Israel, the dignity and safety of all human beings, and pray for peace,” according to Brookline police. The alleged vandal used a purple marker to write “You are shame to Judaism + Jews everywhere. Hashem shames you murderers.”…
