Career criminal on probation for selling crack was hanging out in Franklin Park with an AK-47, police say

Boston Police report arresting a 52-year-old man with a long criminal record after finding him next to his car – and an AK-47 – in Franklin Park early this morning.

Police say officers responding to a report of a person with a gun in the park near the Franklin Park Road entrance shortly after midnight found a vehicle matching the reported description, with three guys standing outside it:

Officers exited their cruiser, and were able to stop the group. They were advised of the reason for the subject stop and a motor vehicle investigatory search was conducted. An AK-47 style rifle was recovered from inside the vehicle, and the suspect was placed into handcuffs…
