A crude explosive device went off Friday morning at an Eastern Bank ATM in Woburn, Massachusetts, authorities said. No injuries were reported, and the branch remains open, according to bank representatives.
Local police and federal investigators responded to the scene about nine miles north of Boston after the device was discovered. Officials said the device, possibly a pipe bomb, did explode but described it as crude in design. No arrests have been made.
The ATM was visibly damaged after the explosion with sections of the facade surrounding the machine appearing to be ripped away from the kiosk, according to footage from Sky 5.
