BOSTON, September 23, 2025 – A New York man is being held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing after being arraigned Monday for threatening to kill his coworker and standing over him with two machetes in an Amazon facility in Revere, Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden announced.
EVENS LAFORET, 24, of Rochester was charged in Chelsea District Court with assault with a dangerous weapon (machete), assault to murder, and assault and battery. Judge Stuart Hurowitz ordered Laforet held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing September 25.
On September 20, Revere police responded to an Amazon facility on American Legion Highway. The victim, an employee, reported being chased by another employee, later identified as Laforet, with a machete. The victim said Laforet had worked at the facility for about a month and had consistently demonstrated aggressive behavior. Before the incident, Laforet put himself at a workstation that he was not assigned to. When the victim approached Laforet to address the issue, Laforet grabbed the victim’s vest and stated, “I’m going to kill you.”…
