Mobster pleads guilty in murder plot case

BOSTON (WPRI) — Ralph DeLeo, a former reputed crime boss, has pleaded guilty to two federal charges in a case that accused him of plotting to kill three current or former federal officials who helped put him behind bars in 2012.

DeLeo, 82, pleaded guilty Friday at U.S. District Court in Boston to RICO conspiracy and a felon in possession of firearms. A third charge, racketeering, was dismissed in a plea deal he struck with federal prosecutors.
