Hyde Park saw an increase in police activity yesterday with a targeted scooter and moped operation carried out by officers from the Boston Police Department’s District E-18. The operation aimed to tackle public safety concerns linked to these vehicles, which include their roles in crimes such as auto law violations, thefts, robberies, and shootings.
As reported by the Boston Police Department, officers on the scene seized and towed a total of eleven mopeds and issued citations and criminal summonses to individuals nabbed during the operation. The violations ranged from operating unregistered and uninsured motor vehicles. Det. Sgt. William Doogan of the Boston Police Department confirmed that the actions were part of a continued commitment to ensuring public safety and improving life quality across neighborhoods.
