It was all smiles and storytelling over at Curtis Guild Elementary School in East Boston where officers from District A-7 and the Bureau of Community Engagement stopped by to celebrate ‘Character Day.’ The Boston Police Department’s initiative was to actively engage with students and the community in a positive light. According to their recent release, officers took joy in reading stories to the children and enjoying the creative costumes on display.
School days are rarely expected to just turn into impromptu meet-and-greets with the police, but for the young minds at Curtis Guild, the day was a break from routine. The BPD officers made sure to effectively bridge gaps between law enforcement and the community’s youth.
