Is “ability to fight” a pre-requisite to getting a job at Market Basket stores in Massachusetts?
Recently, two women apparently thought the high-end section of a Boston-area Market Basket store was a free-for-all as they attempted to steal lobster meat, prime ribeye steaks and truffle butter. When confronted, the duo didn’t quietly leave, but rather, upgraded the scene to a knock-down, drag-out special, complete with flinging tote bags and fisticuffs.
That kind of thing happens sometimes, but just a week prior a drunken woman was picked up from a Market Basket on a slew of charges from disorderly conduct, to vandalizing property, to assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (shopping cart) and more. When she got to a holding cell upon booking, she then decided to intentionally clog the toilet…
