Parents enter not guilty plea to manslaughter after baby dies from cocaine and fentanyl

A Boston couple has been charged with manslaughter after their 5-week-old baby girl died from intoxication and the combined effects of fentanyl and cocaine. They both live in the Dorchester neighborhood of the city.

Mother Raynell L. Reed, 31, and father Gerard L. Winn, 52, both entered not guilty pleas to their charges at Suffolk Superior Court in Massachusetts on Monday, Nov. 24, according to the Boston Globe. The paper added that Raynell and Gerard were held on $100,000 cash bail pending their upcoming court date on December 18.
