BOSTON — A legislative hearing Tuesday at the State House examined a bill to create a commission studying reparations for slavery’s legacy in Massachusetts, including potential payments and a formal state apology for the institution’s role in U.S. history.
The Joint Committee on the Judiciary took up H.1753, filed by Rep. Russell Holmes, D-Boston, and Sen. Liz Miranda, D-Boston. You can view the bill HERE.
