Boston leaders and students talk about safety after Brown University shooting

After this weekend’s deadly mass shooting at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, leaders in Boston are talking about student safety in their city.

Authorities are continuing to search for the gunman. Mayor Michelle Wu and Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox spoke Monday about the shooting, which left two people dead and nine injured.

“We work closely, on a daily basis, with the police forces that keep our colleges and universities safe,” Cox said. “Most of the colleges and universities have their own security and police forces, but we share information, vice versa, around ways in which they can stay safe and we can stay connected.”…
