Last week, South Boston native Stephen Ryan and his friend Dee Bendel found themselves in Vatican City for a special jubilee audience — and managed to sneak in a very special moment with Pope Leo.
With a homemade sign featuring both the Red Sox and White Sox logos (plus the dates of their upcoming games at Fenway) in hand, Ryan and Bendel caught the attention of Pope Leo, a Chicago native and, naturally, a White Sox fan. Ryan called out and invited His Holiness to come visit Boston — and according to Ryan, the response was pretty clear: “I want to visit Boston!”…
