Odds are increasing that Massachusetts will be dealing with some accumulating snow from a coastal storm Sunday night – and the latest forecast shows snowy weather could impact the NFL playoff game in Foxboro between the New England Patriots and Houston Texans.
This has been a tough one to forecast. Here is what we know right now for sure.
- There will be a coastal storm forming off the East Coast during the day Sunday.
- It will make its closest pass by southern New England Sunday night.
- The farther south and east you live, the better the chance that you will receive some snow and possibly plowable snow.
- We can likely rule out a major snowstorm or nor’easter at this point. The storm will be moving rather quickly, its pressure won’t be that deep and our window for getting snow is only about 6-12 hours.
Saturday snow
First thing’s first: There will be some light rain and snow during the day on Saturday. This is a completely separate storm from the Sunday night event.
