An aging auto parts shop in Jamaica Plain could soon be transformed into almost 50 affordable apartments.
The approximately $33 million project, which was approved by the Boston Planning Department last month and the Zoning Board of Appeals this week, would create 48 homes at the current site of Alco Auto Parts at 294 Hyde Park Ave.
