It was 48 years ago this week that the Brockton area was slammed by a nor’easter that is still talked about decades later.
It was on Monday, Feb. 6, 1978, that the Brockton area was bombarded with fast-falling, heavy snow. By the end of the storm, which lasted over 30 hours, the region had received more than 2 feet of snow.
The “vicious” nor’easter, described as the worst in memory by public officials, paralyzed the Brockton area, according to The Enterprise reporting on Feb. 7, 1978…
