Cambridge’s shelter crisis has reached a tipping point.
During the recent snowstorm, homeless shelters had no choice but to increase operational hours and exceed resident capacity. Cambridge’s Salvation Army took in an approximate 50 people on January 25th, despite already filling 48 overnight beds. First Church stayed open and accommodated daytime residents until January 27th. For a system running on fumes, this isn’t sustainable…
