BOSTON (WBZ News Radio) – When snow and ice cause neighbors to fight over parking spots in the street, a man in East Boston is there to save the day with his shovel and love of his community.
Dubbed “The Shovel Man,” Sam McGillis has taken it upon himself to help dig out the Jeffries Point neighborhood in East Boston.
“I’ll go out with my two shovels. I’ve probably brought back eight or nine spots,” he said.
Its been two weeks since a snow storm dumped nearly 2 feet of snow on Boston, and if you ask McGillis, acting like a hero because you dug yourself out is not being a good member of the community…
