First Alert: Multiple chances of snow and wintry conditions, starting today

Happy Tuesday! We might be getting a break from the bitter cold this week, but we’re not getting a break from the snow! In fact, we’re tracking a few chances for snow, starting with Tuesday.

A weak system from the northwest will bring a few snow flurries and brief snow showers, along with areas of patchy freezing drizzle to the region this morning and possibly into the early afternoon. Temperatures have been below freezing this morning, but by this afternoon, highs will climb into the mid and upper 30s.

Little to no snow accumulation is expected for much of Greater Boston, but let’s be careful. Freezing drizzle could still produce some slippery surfaces here and there, especially on some bridges and sidewalks.

Wednesday is a First Alert. A frontal system will stall across our area, giving way to a rain/snow mix. We’ll have to watch the temperatures through the day…
