New Winter Weather Warnings Issued in Northeast as 6 Inches of Snow to Hit

National Weather Service (NWS) meteorologists issued a fresh batch of winter weather advisories for the Northeast on Tuesday ahead of an incoming weather system set to hit on Wednesday afternoon.

The NWS offices in Binghamton, New York; Albany, New York; and Boston, Massachusetts, issued the winter weather advisories for their forecast regions, which also included parts of southern Vermont, just before noon Eastern time on Tuesday. The alerts come as much of the U.S. West is walloped by a series of back-to-back winter storms. The storms will trek eastward across the country, eventually bringing accumulating snow and possible ice to the Northeast by midweek.

Snowfall totals vary depending on the location.

The Binghamton, New York, NWS office issued a slew of winter weather advisories for the following counties: Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Madison, Onondaga, Otsego, and Oneida, which includes the cities of Rome, Cortland, Walton, Norwich, Delhi, Hamilton, Oneida, Utica, Oneonta, Syracuse, and Booneville.
