We’re tracking two storms that could bring snow to Massachusetts over the weekend.
Friday to Saturday snow and rain
A messy winter mix is moving through southern New England today through early Saturday. A burst of snow for interior spots this afternoon to early evening and another overnight. In between, some sleet and pockets of freezing rain that could create minor ice accretion (up to a couple of tenths in spots). Generally, 1-3″ of snow and sleet (sleet accumulations count with snow totals, not with ice) over Boston and greater Boston is expected. North of I-90 and Boston, 3-5″ of snow is likely with less mixing near the NH border.
All areas flip back to light snow tonight before tapering early Saturday morning. The timing overnight into early Saturday will create slick roads, especially untreated surfaces. Expect a few light snow showers Saturday.

Snow develops Sunday night, with the heaviest snow and strongest winds on Monday morning. Cape Cod, the Islands, and the South Coast could see near and above 12″ of snow, along with strong northeast winds gusting 50–60 mph, potentially leading to blowing snow and dangerous travel…
