New snow map: Nor’easter to bring blizzard conditions, heavy snow to New England

A major winter storm develops into Sunday and brings a classic nor’easter to the entire northeastern U.S. We’re looking at near blizzard conditions, damaging wind, outages, 1-2 feet of snow, and coastal flooding for three high tides. This one is a very high-impact storm.

Timing the nor’easter

Sunday morning through midday Boston will be cloudy but still dry. This is the time to wrap up any storm preparations. By 8 p.m. Sunday, be in place for where you need or want to be for a couple of days (until Tuesday possibly). The snow rates ramp up overnight Sunday and 1-3 inches per hour snow rates are likely with that strong northeast wind. The snow is relentless through mid morning on Monday.
