Three outermost Cape Cod towns shut out of power during blizzard

More than 149,000 Eversource customers on Cape Cod were without power as of 1 p.m. Monday during a blizzard expected to last until early Tuesday. The total outages jumped from around 106,000 at 9 a.m. Monday.

Of the Cape’s 15 towns, Provincetown, Truro and Wellfleet — the Cape’s outermost towns — were 99% or completely without power. Just south, Eastham was 98% without power, and neighboring Orleans was 95% without power.

Towns with at least 70% of customers with no power also included Barnstable, Bourne, Brewster, Chatham, Dennis, Falmouth, Harwich, Mashpee and Yarmouth…
