A man convicted of manslaughter for the beating death of another man during St. Patrick’s Day in Boston’s Downtown Crossing was sentenced to six years in prison on Monday.
Sanusi Sadiq, 31, of Quincy, was convicted of manslaughter in the 2023 death of Barry Whelan, 46, during a retrial, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office said. The first time the case was tried in February 2025, it ended in mistrial.
