Family, friends and supporters of Sandra Birchmore are anxiously awaiting a judge’s decision that could determine whether the federal case against Matthew Farwell — a former Stoughton police officer accused of killing her and her unborn child — will proceed to trial.
Farwell, 40, of Easton, was arrested in August 2024 on charges he strangled Birchmore, who was 23-years-old and around 8 weeks pregnant, and staged her body to look like suicide to prevent her from disclosing years of alleged sexual abuse that began when she was a minor, according to charging documents.
