Cambridge man arrested for emailing woman he would be “happy” when her face was “canoed by an assault rifle”

BOSTON — A Cambridge man was arrested on Friday, March 13, 2026, and charged with transmitting a threat in interstate commerce, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts.

Alden Welch Ruml, 26, of Cambridge, was charged with one count of transmitting in interstate commerce a threat to injure the person of another. Ruml was scheduled to make an initial appearance in federal court in Boston following his arrest on Friday.
