Boston Water and Sewer Commission crews are at Jackson Square dealing with a “major” water break on Columbus Avenue at Centre and Ritchie streets.
The flooding was first reported by Boston firefighters around 3 p.m., who immediately requested both BWSC and Boston Police because the water was making the intersection impassible.
A building housing a daycare began taking on water; firefighters were able to get all the kids and staffers out safely through a rear entrance. Firefighters also evacuated other buildings as well, including another building with a daycare on Centre Street…
