A Massachusetts man says nearly $100,000 was stolen from his Fidelity investment accounts after he was targeted by fraudsters posing as the financial firm.
Allen Merry of Cambridge says the ordeal began with what he believed was a legitimate phone call from Fidelity.
“I got a call from Fidelity one morning,” said Merry. “They told me that somebody stole $99,500 from me, and they asked me if I did it — if I transferred that money to a bank in Florida. I mean, I don’t go to Florida.”…
