Crypto ATM scans are on the rise, and residents across Massachusetts are falling victim to increasingly sophisticated scam tactics.
The targets are most often older adults — people that the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) said are more than three times as likely as younger adults to fall victim to these scams. Crypto ATMs, marketed as convenient payment portals, are increasingly used by scammers who direct seniors and other victims to kiosks in gas stations and corner stores.
