A car crash at the intersection of Blue Hill Avenue and Abbot Street in Dorchester escalated into an assault on Tuesday, leaving one man with a facial laceration and a trip to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. Officers stayed on scene after the dust-up while detectives documented the area and collected evidence, as per Boston Herald.
Boston police identified the two suspects as Anthony Shearrion and Arkie Swinson. Both were booked on charges that include malicious destruction of property and assault and battery. The same 24 hour police blotter logged roughly 215 incidents citywide and listed several other arrests, including Alvin Franklin on a charge of shoplifting by asportation, Savita Devi on a charge of larceny over $250, Robert Alexander on a charge of possession of a class B drug and Marco Pina on a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon. The report also notes that Kenneth Bigby-Williams, who was arrested in Hyde Park last summer, has since pleaded guilty to two counts of being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition and is scheduled for federal sentencing in June, according to the Boston Herald.
Hyde Park Search Recovered Multiple Weapons
According to a report from the Boston Police Department, a search of 142 Margaretta Drive in Hyde Park turned up five guns, 74 rounds of ammunition and numerous high-capacity magazines. The seizure followed the August 2025 arrest of Kenneth Bigby-Williams in a joint FBI and BPD operation and was detailed in the department’s Drug Control Unit update.
Revere To Pilot Translation-Enabled Body Cameras
In nearby Revere, police are testing body-worn cameras that Chief Maria LaVita says can provide near real-time translation in dozens of languages as part of a small pilot program to evaluate the technology.
