BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston residents are reacting after a measure to ban alcohol sales at school-affiliated sporting facilities was turned down by City Council members.
The measure proposed by Council members Ed Flynn and Julia Mejia looked to ban the sale of alcohol at Boston Public Schools facilities, saying it would send a bad message to kids around Boston and violate school policies surrounding liquor sales on school grounds.
The resolution would heavily affect operations at Franklin Park’s White Stadium, which is set to be the home field for Boston’s professional women’s soccer team, Boston Legacy FC, and also host BPS school events…
