Saugus residents say they’re being charged thousands of dollars for water they never used — and they’re running out of patience as they wait for the town to explain what’s going on.
Homeowners across multiple neighborhoods report receiving water bills far higher than anything they’ve seen before — some of them larger than a monthly mortgage payment and, in at least two cases, larger than a yearly tax bill.
‘My last bill was $6,800’
Debra Fauci says she opened her most recent bill to find a charge of $6,800. Weeks later, another arrived — this one for $5,300.
“It’s over $12,000,” Fauci said. “It’s double, triple a mortgage payment.”…
