Boston police say they cut short a package theft spree in Back Bay on Tuesday, arresting a Weymouth man who allegedly tailed a UPS truck and scooped up deliveries almost as soon as they hit the doorstep.
Officers responding to a larceny-in-progress call at 369 Beacon Street found the kind of scene city residents dread: multiple torn-open packages and bags scattered around the building.
