Police warn of string of car thefts from driveways in Mass. town

Needham police are warning the public about a string of recent car thefts from residents’ driveways.

Home security footage shows suspects stealing cars left unlocked overnight with the key fob inside, the police department said in a Facebook post. The videos show a thief walking up a driveway, opening the driver’s door, pressing on the brake and the start button and then driving away.

Often, a group of suspects will check 15 to 20 cars to see if they are unlocked in a matter of minutes, police said. The thefts happen quietly and don’t require any hot-wiring…
