Suffolk DA contest heats up as challenger enters race against Kevin Hayden

A lawyer who previously mounted an unsuccessful campaign for the office entered the race for Suffolk County District Attorney on Monday, according to nomination papers filed with the Secretary of State’s office.

Linda Champion, who now works at the firm Murphy, Hesse, Toomey & Lehane, pulled papers to run for the seat on Monday, Secretary of State William Galvin’s office confirmed. The only other person to have taken out papers to run is the incumbent district attorney, Kevin Hayden.
