Newton City Council Honors Late Alderman Michael Malec, Reviews Redevelopment Proposals

Newton’s City Council met on Monday to pass a resolution honoring Michael Malec, a former member of the Newton Board of Aldermen and Boston College professor who passed away on March 31, before reviewing a series of redevelopment proposals and infrastructure plans.

On the Board of Aldermen—which became the City Council in 2016—Malec represented Ward 5 from 1980 to 1986 and served as president from 1985 to 1986.
