Amtrak service between Boston and New York was suspended Saturday morning after a highway on-ramp in Rhode Island partially collapsed Friday, sending debris onto the train tracks below.
All trains on the route were canceled overnight and limited service was not expected to resume until late Saturday morning at the earliest, according to an Amtrak spokesperson.
