An Irishman who transformed a bare Boston neighborhood into a go-to destination will be honored with a city park named in his memory.
Kenneth Kelly, from Co Longford, had “hospitality ingrained in his DNA and wanted to better the community,” of Sommerville, a town just outside Boston.
He owned five pubs: The Independent, Brass Union, Foundry on Elm, Saloon, and River Bar in the area. He is famously remembered for putting so many Christmas decorations on the roof of one pub in the hope it could be seen from space…
