Water shoots from the street in Boston, impacting traffic

Repair work was underway in Boston Friday morning after a valve incident sent water shooting into the air on Tremont Street.

The Boston Water and Sewer Commission said an incident occurred with an 8-inch gate head due to contractor work during bypass connections.

Workers were on the scene for hours, during which time traffic was impacted with part of the street closed. Boston police had advised people to seek an alternate route, noting both vehicular and pedestrian traffic in the area of Tremont and School streets was expected to be impacted by the water issue…
