Select Board gives town manager a B rating

WILMINGTON — On April 27, the Select Board met to discuss a number of new board and committee appointees.

Before the board moved into regular business, Frank West informed those present that a new format of public comments would be tried that evening. Instead of having public comments at the end of the meeting, after the board al­ready voted on everything, West explained that they would be experimenting with having them at the very start. This way, townspeople could have input on board items before they have already been decided.

A resident then ap­proached the microphone and asked about potential contamination at the North Intermediate School site. He informed the board that a number of his friends in town were concerned that the site’s history as a tannery che­mical dumping location could pose a risk to the health of the students…
