Family of fallen Boston police officer faces another devastating loss after Wrentham house fire

Nearly six years after losing their father to COVID-19, the Fontanez family is once again starting over — this time after a fire destroyed their Massachusetts home and nearly everything inside it.

The fire broke out in Wrentham on April 27, tearing through the house the family had lived in for about eight years.

“It’s the thing that takes away everything you own that makes you realize the objects don’t matter,” said Ethan Fontanez. “It’s all about the people you’re with. My brother. My mom. We’re lucky we still have each other.”
