Heavy rains will hit Massachusetts on Thursday, as the National Weather Service predicts more than an inch of precipitation on the day.
Some parts of the state woke to showers Thursday morning, and that is expected to quickly turn to steady rain across Massachusetts by 8 a.m. By early afternoon, most of the state will be experiencing downpours.
Thunderstorms could develop in the Springfield area between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and in the Berkshires between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Central Massachusetts could see thunder and lightning between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m…
