BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. — Louisville and Superior have both changed their short-term rental laws ahead of the 2027 Sundance Film Festival, betting that a lack of lodging options in Boulder will push visitors to nearby cities and into their local businesses.
Boulder and its partners committed more than $34 million in incentives over 10 years to bring Sundance from Park City, Utah. But with the festival still more than six months away, some Airbnb rentals in Boulder are already listed for more than $5,000 per night.
