DENVER (KDVR) — More than four years after the Marshall Fire, many are still in recovery after losing everything. This week, three survivors are heading to Washington, D.C., to advocate for better help for people who experience wildfires or any other natural disaster.
Thirty-year Superior resident Daryl McCool has been helping her community since the early days after the Marshall Fire. Part of that help came in the form of an art piece done after the fire, hearts displayed throughout town as a reminder to victims that you are loved.

“The neighborhoods that you see were completely gone, and that’s not something you ever expect to experience in your lifetime,” McCool said.
