Man attacks 2 people on Boulder’s Pearl Street Mall: Police

DENVER (KDVR) — A man is in custody after Boulder police said he used a knife to attack two people on the popular Pearl Street Mall and purposely went to the busy area ‘to hurt people.’

The attack happened just before 8 a.m. in the 1300 block of Pearl Street when officers got a call that a man attacked a woman with a knife, police said in a press release.

The woman was walking to work when the man, later identified as Marcus Ariel Valles, 35, of Lakewood, approached her and began hitting her with the knife, police said. The woman had bruises and cuts on her hand, but was able to get away.

Police said Valles then walked up to a man also walking to work and cornered him. He stabbed at the man but did not make contact, police said, and the man threw his coffee at Valles and ran away…
