DENVER (KDVR) — A juvenile red-tailed hawk survived being hit by a car, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office announced in a social media post.
A driver was traveling near Niwot Road and the Diagonal Highway when the hawk hit their vehicle, getting stuck in the grille after the impact, but remaining alive.
Police say man was driving 4 times over legal limit near school
The driver reported the incident to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office Animal Protection unit, which responded and used bolt cutters to help free the hawk from the grille.
